Masters
A master's degree generally takes 2, sometimes 3, years to complete. Usually you have to not only complete classes but complete an internship. In addition to this, some programs require you to write a thesis. While this degree may take up much of your time, it is considered very valuable in the certain fields. For example, if you are in the business field you may be required to have one in order to compete for a job.
Many seek master's degrees to advance in their fields and to earn raises. Others seek master's degrees to change career fields. For example, let's say that you've earned a bachelor's degree in English, but have decided that you want to become a counselor: complete a master's degree in counseling. A master's degree will allow you to develop expertise in a new area and enter a new career.
